NEVER Store Your Makeup Brushes Like This

                        

Do you do your makeup in the bathroom—and store it there? Then it’s important to pay special attention to how you’re housing your brushes, dermatologist Kavita Mariwalla tells PopSugar. By simply keeping them out in the open air, you’re exposing them to really gross bacteria—which you’re then brushing onto your face.

“When you flush, bacteria can get aerosolized,” she says, which means that anything kept in an open jar is fair game. Gross!

But the solution is simple and actually kind of obvious: Take those brushes out of the open air. Dr. Mariwalla recommends storing them in a sealed bag or box, tucked away in a drawer.
